Artist Statement

I am interested in mimicking the entropy of the natural world and making a product that is almost untraceable back to its original. Using heavily artificial stock and advertising photos, I fragment, distort, and ultimately corrupt the files digitally. I aim to create imagery that blurs the distinction between the real and virtual world, showing that the process of decay exists in both.

Project Statement

From our investigation of natural processes we no longer see the digital in direct opposition to the natural world. Both spaces succumb to the same overriding principles and systems, the primary being entropy. There is a logic to what we once saw as illogical and concepts we once saw only in contrast to one another have lost their boundaries. Because we no longer subscribe to the logic of binary oppositions, we no longer categorize and make arbitrary distinctions. This has erased all hierarchy that was inevitably manufactured.
